I guess i'll chime in here. Thanks for the interest guys, we're working on it as we speak.
Just some background, I actually got my business started with XJ traction bars. This was the prototype for the kit I sold back in highschool out of my parent's garage. Those were the days...
With the prototype I had it on the driver's side so I didn't have to touch the exhaust. Not bad, but not the best option. It also hung down a bit:
From that I produced this kit. I sold this for a few years, probably 200 of them out there still running.
That design was great if you were to never touch your ride height and didnt mind the crossmember hanging down 2". My new design which we are modeling right now is much more modular and sits way higher.
It'll work on anything from a stock XJ all the way to 9-10" of lift no problem. It's going to use a mini slider box up at the crossmember instead of the shackle, mount on heims at all corners, and have an adjustable upper link so you can change ride height and pinion angle at will.
The plan is to keep a flat belly where the crossmember is, run a 2"x.25" round lower tube with 7/8" heims at each end, two tabs on that for the upper tube with two more heims. Think of it like a radius arm link with the removable upper link that's fully adjustable. I'm also planning to make it modular so the crossmember can be flipped to run the bar on driver's or passenger's side. Exhaust mods will be necessery. I'm going to look into offering a prebent exhaust piece with it that will hump over the crossmember and slip fit back into the stock exhaust (only possible if the bar is on the driver's side). There's a possibility that can grow into a specific exhaust kit for running it on the passenger side as well.
I'm looking to keep the price below $300 for the bar kit itself. Any other suggestions?Last edited by liquidironind; 08-26-2011, 12:20 PM.

Here's some exhaust pics to give you an idea of what's involved. I did all this in my gravel driveway at Penn State.
This is a Rusty's cat back system:
Traction bar in place on the passenger side with the exhaust removes:
Exhaust routing using a Magnaflow 14416. I use Pypes M-80s now, same muffler, half the price.
