    99 xj 4.0

My XJ died on me the other day , it stummbled for 2 mins then it died' and wont restart. Ive replaced the dist, rotor, wires, and CPS. The coil checked out ok when we checked the resistants. There are no blown fuses and it is getting fuel. Any Ideas?

by strange i mean like, when my computer went bad in my last xj, the check engine light, brake light, etc. wouldnt come on when i turned the key. if i screwed with it for a few minutes by turning the key back and forth, they would all of a sudden light up and thats when it would start. i know this may not be your problem but seeing as you already replaced all of the obvious things that will fail to deliver spark, its an idea. any luck getting it to start/ spark in neutral?

could still be the coil too. I have seen them a few times go bad only when they are hot. When it is cold, it still has continuity through it, but when it heats up, there is none. Also, are you 100% positive on getting fuel? and im guessing it cranks but just wont start? check/replace the cam sensor?

97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.

It was the coil, the coil was cracked so it was losing power.
