    rear spare tire swingout carrier

    So, I bought a swingout OEM spare tire carrier for my xj today from Chuck and eddies with the bumper...I saw on one forum, only a 31" tire was recommended max for it...Has anyone had experience with these? Would it be okay for my 33" spare tire? It is the carrier that mounts both to the quarter panel and the endcap of the bumper...

    Any thoughts on this carrier as well? I was looking into getting a rear hitch carrier as well, but i couldnt pass this one up (i am on a budget )

    I had one on my last jeep. Worked dandy for a 31... If i were to do it over again i would brace the shit out of the mount that goes on the quater panel.By brace I mean spread the load out as far as you can and tie into the panel where the tail light mounts.

      YYYYYYYOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! I WAS THE ONE PULLING PARTS OFF THAT RED XJ 2dr ON THE CORNER THERE!!!!!!!!!!!! I WENT BY AT 1:30 TODAY TO FINISH AND PULL IT OFF!!!!

      I was trying to pull the hub yesterday and I didn't realize how late it was. but I didn't even get it off today I gave up I'm not actually that pissed but three questions for you. How much did they charge you for it? Why did you smash the window so I had to sit my ass in broken glass to remove the hub? Did you happen to take the socket that was fuck stuck on one of the hub bolts? I kinda want that back I'll give you a couple bucks for it.
      Jeeps don't get stuck ... they just take a nap when they are tired of being awesome

        HAHAHAH..wait, by pulling parts, you didn't mean the actual carrier did you? lol...But I was there bright and early like at 8am because i was busy right after that for the whole day, so I like to go and look for some xj parts...but I had them take it off, they charged me the same amount for it if i was to pull it off myself..and I didn't smash any window...lol
        They charged me 97 with tax and that dumb environmental fee bs...And I didn't see a socket there lol..

        But funny story..so i had to go to the other chuck and eddies to write a work order for them to pull it..I came back later in the day to grab it..but the dumb new fuck that was working at the desk didnt write in that i also wanted the bumper, just the carrier..even though i paid 97 for both...so I got really pissed and basically told them that i wont leave without the bumper cuz it wasn't my fault and that kind of shit happened to me before..and at the same place..So the manager got someone to pull it off for me while i waited..they took it to the garage and must have put it back after I left

        But anyways, what a small world huh

          haha yea good to hear that it didn't go to some dumbass who knew nothing about Jeeps. Yea I was going to take it off if it yesterday if it was the right price but if they had told me $97 I wouldn't have bought it anyway. Well I lost a socket to that Jeep but I did manage to get a perfectly working complete ABS long shaft for excessively cheap and that is all I was there for to begin with. I can't believe they took it to the garage though to pull that bumper for you unless it was after I was there because it was in the EXACT same position that I had left it with the jack under the control arm and everything. yea small world
