so i installed my 8.8 in my wrangler today everything is in and just have to do the finishing touches in the morning. It is an open Diff. With 4.10 gears i've read that the ford 8.8 takes synthetic 75w140 when i went to the part store I bought the diff. cover gasket and was going to get the oil and the man looked it up and told me it calls for synthetic 75w 90. i want to make sure I put the rite gear oil in what are you guys running in your 8.8's

    Any info would be great

There really is very little difference between the 75-90 and the 75-140.

Both are the same weight.... (75w)

the 2nd number is a temperature rating, basically the 90 begins to break down at a lower temperature than the 140. It won't really matter which one you use.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.
