    the pothole thing doesnt make a difference- what does is when your going fast over over uneven terrain. a D30 with alloys and 33x10.5s is a lot lighter and has MUCH less momentum than a D60 with steel beadlocks and 37" bias rubber.

    any shock that is made for a lifted jeep will be fine. the 4.0 and 2.5 are pretty close in weight.
