    lsd dana 35

    I have a 96 cherokee with a stock dana 35. I picked up a lsd dana 35 last night and was wondering if i could swap the internals instead of changing the whole axle. Its in Very good shape.

    (It has the same 355 gearing)

      yeah your swapping over the pinion over too correct? your gunna swap everything from one to the other including shims.

        Thats what I was thinking of doing, instead of swapping the whole rear axle.

          The housing on the lsd one you found is pretty toast.

              By "toast", I mean it's been sitting out in the woods for who knows how long. To just swap axles, you'd have to redo brakes, brake lines... easier to just swap the internals.

                right, well the brakes on there are actually better than mine... and yeah brake lines are cut and the e-brake too...

                  in all honesty i wouldn't bother putting any time or effort into a d35, those things suck goatballs and aren't worth shit, drive it save your money and buy an 8.25 atleast!

                    SO.... let me see... I have a FREE lsd dana 35 and have an awesome neighbor that is going to swap it into mine for FREE, and you say dont do it.

                    All its going to cost me is gasket sealer and some oil. I deffinately wheel my jeep probably more than anyone on this site, and my dana 35 in my jeep has no problems and neither did my last jeep. So far so good..

                      ree-lax, dude- it was free. Why not work with whatcha got? I'm pretty sure it's not going to be a permanent modification.
