  • high oil pressure?

    hey guys i have a 2000 cherokee i just recently changed my oil and now my oil pressure gauge goes to 80 (where it pins out) when i start it and after it wrms up i goes down to like 60 but with any gas it pins out again and stay there until u let up on th gas. before i changed the oil it would warm up at about 60 than drop to around 30 than with gas back up to 55-60. is this okay that its so high? happen to anybody else? please help

    what weight oil is in it? sensor could be bad too

      I bet its your sending unit. Go under there and jiggle the wires and make sure the sensor is plugged in too
      I don't always drink orange juice, but when I do, I prefer to chew it. #madpulp

        YEH, YA PROLLY JIGGLED TEH WIRES WHEN YA WERE DOIN THE FILTER.. COULD BE WORSE... YA COULD HAVE NO OIL PRESSURE

              wade its 10w-30 same as i always used in it. i'll try the sending unit wires

                those sending units always mess up.

                  What kind of filter did you use? Fram's are notorious for sucking shut which would raise your oil pressure.
                  1993 XJ sport 3.5" rustys 33" MTZ's armored.

                    yea jiggled the sending unit wires and took em off and wd'ed them still nothing. yea i use fram 3x guard ph16. i thought it could have been a clog or something im gonna change it and see what happens. gotta start somewheere

                      hook up a mechanical gauge to it as the sending unit and gauges are more of a rough estimation IMO.
