So I swapped front axles and a driveshaft into my manche so it would have 4wd and under load there is a horrible skipping, Im pretty sure the chain in the transfer case is skipping over the front output gear, so my question is will the guts from a 94 np231 bolt in, Im pretty sure the gears and chain are all the same, I also have a np241 out of a dodge that you can supposedly use the bigger chain and gears out of that too if anyone has done that? Thanks in advance for the input.

Every NP231 J I have seen uses the same with chain and front output
The s10 NP231 C uses a wider chain and front output gear.
The dodge NP241 would have too long of a chain if I had to guess. I don't know how I would feel about shortening one, or if it is even possible1950 Willys Trail Rig
