Anyone have any tips for getting the race out of the axle tube that the wheelbearing rides on on the axle shaft before i go hitting prying needlessly? It's in there like a bastard.
The only time I have ever seen one taken out was with Sam in a comfort inn parking lot in hazleton and we used a dremel to cut it out
Apparently the wheelbearing for d44s for the xj (and whatever else) was redesigned to have the bearing itself be self enclosed, instead of the taper bearings riding on a separate race that sits in the axle tube at the end of it...so i have to get the old race out.
