AW4 version compatibility

Need a new planetary and clutch assembly buddy has one from an 89 that looks the same, rather not install the tranny with wrong internals. What years can I swap parts with, never had an auto before so not up to speed.

you are limited to using a 99-early 01 aw4 if you want it to be plug and play.

if you want to play around with tcu's and wiring you can make a 91-98 work...

don't bother with anything older than a 91. wrong output spline count, renix wiring, and probably other things.

I just needed that oil pump, took one out of an 89, everything measured up right and it popped right in.....just have to get the gears back in that fell out
