  • Dim headlights on my 98 XJ

i just bought a 98 XJ and tonight was the first time driving it at night (just happened to be raining too). and noticed that my headlights are very dim, i feel i would have been better off just turning them off. Is this because they are the sealed units? would i be better off replacing with the halogen conversions?

Sounds like a typical stock xj. Get the high output Wagners or Silverstars.

Also, welcome... Post up an intro thread and say hi.

if you want to convert, get a brighter bulb when you go over to the H4's

you can upgrade the harness before doing the actual lights themselves, this will help alot.

I have been very happy with my silverstars. Cheap enough and give off enough light to make me think h4 conversions aren't worth it. I also just throw my hellas on in the rain for extra light.

i use nightvision, works better than headlights.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

if i had night vision that would be awesome, be so easy to run from cops, just turn off the headlights
