Spider gears

So I pulled off my rear diff cover today because I was getting a really bad grinding every once in a while. I opened it to find some pieces of my spider gears missing.

I still have stock axles, d30 and d35, no lockers. I plan to get new axles as soon as I can get enough money together to get everything done at once. (axles, seals, brakes, lockers, bla bla, tires)

For the moment until I get new axles, should I replace the spider gears from a jeep in a junkyard with the same axle, or buy new ones altogether. Is there any way that the spider gears for my front d30 and put them in the d35 and buy a locker for the front?

I just don't want to over invest in stupid axles that I'm not going to have for too much longer. Ideas?

Just buy some from a junkyard, they are only like 20 bucks when I bought a spare set for my D30. They dont wear out really so JY ones will be fine.

No they wont interchange however, you need D35 spiders.

dont bother with axle seals and hardware for that 35, just nurse it along until you get the cash for an 88 wich will cost about $230 for everything.

to /threadjack, Ian's right, find a 35 in the JY to pull the spiders from. It shouldn't cost too much, and it'll get you going until you can find something like an 8.25 or fullwidths.

he can get a dana35 for free if looks around, i wouldn't spend a dime on something thats just going to explode...

yep... at this point I have no way of driving around with my spider gears like this unless I want to be stuck somewhere and have to drive home in front wheel drive.

my best bet for now seems like just going to a junkyard and pulling me some used ones. I'm not even going to bother with an 8.8 for now... I'm saving for 60's
