Unsure why everyone hates Baja Claws...
I bought 4 used claws around July of 2006. The guy had them on his XJ for over 3 years he said. I finally blew one on the highway going 85+ mph last November for miles at a time.
Currently have 2 claws that are 4 years old up front and 2 claws that are 7 years old in back. I've never had a rock cut a sidewall ever.
That being said... Whenever I have to buy new tires... I want to try something different.

I bring the hate on claws because they are directional tires. I see no point in a directional radial offroad tire when there are other non-directional tires that offer the same traction.
My vehicle is 90% onroad, so rotating tires is something I'd like to do without having to remove the tire from the rim. I'm nit picking, I know, but what the fuck. Claws Crabwalk, too.

that is a lot of tire to blow on the highway.
don't they share the same carcass as the mtz/stt/whatever else?
its the tread that i dont like.

i never ran the km2's only the original bfg m/ts , I ran claws (35")for over a year and they never let me down while wheeling, they do hydroplane on rain covered roads (puddles) fairly easy though. I had no problem balancing them out or running them up to 80mph though.

i liked them, different then everyone running bfg's. they would probably be pretty good if you siped them with a grooving tool/siperup to 40% off parts from advance auto parts, buy online and pick up at store for free-click here!

The km2's are nice because they are alot quieter on the street than other m/t's. I run the Trxus M/T's and being my first mud terrain, i would much rather have a less aggressive tire.
I like the look of the claws, but like cleantj said, if you can get your hands on a siper, you can make them alot more road friendlyGod made the world in seven days, on the 7th day, he made the Le Car

Yeah i'm gonna say STT's too. I blew one but i've seen SS TSL's blow too, even an SX once.
They grip like a son of a bitch and after ~8000 miles they have virtually no wear.01 XJ 3" on 33's and some new paint n stuff. Gone.

any modern MT will likely suit a persons needs...it comes down to longevity a lot of the time. i dont like baja claws performance though...or the fact theyre directional for no real gain as far as i know of.- Will

i've had great luck with the km2's. only complaint is that because they are a softer rubber compound, i have chunked mine quite a bit. they kinda develop a krawleresc wear to them the more i wheel. The lugs get extremely rounded, but i will say they stick like no other radial tires i have ever seen before. I did some gnarly stuff open/open with my 33's.No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

My STT's chunk a bit, nothing serious like losing whole lugs. Doesnt bother me one bit or affect performance.
Makes them look cooler, that way when somebody is like "Wow you dont really wheel that thing, those dents are from shopping carts" I can be like, "look at my tires, they are chewed up".
Mine havent worn at all in front, like literally at all, my brand new STT looks exactly like the front ones, i'd rate them at like 95%. The rear have worn a bit thanks to my locker and my heavy foot on the gas around corners, but they aren't bad, still like 75% tread, this is after 8,000 miles. I'd say rotating them and not doing many more sweet locker burnouts will let me keep them till around 25-30K.Last edited by iant333; 08-30-2010, 09:17 PM.01 XJ 3" on 33's and some new paint n stuff.
