you can use that bender, but I would suggest sched40 pipe instead of full one chromemoly tube.

Then, triangulate the fuck out of everything for addition strength, and well, you need to triangulate anyway.

Do you have any plans for this cage? Where ANYTHING is going?

why dont you just do more shit to your jeep?? stinger grill hoop frame tie ins, boat side, fenders that tie into cage and grill hoop, seats frames that tie into the cage, hip bars, flat dash, anti wrap bar steering box brace and hydro assist.

that should keep you busy for 3 weeks

See, this is why I have problems grasping concepts like this.

I still dont understand how you can't just sit the fuck down and write a one page report or even make a presentation about making the cage and explain to the administrators that it took you only so long to make the cage on a CAD program and then further explain how it will only take you a week to do it.

If they are so easily swayed, why not make a 3 slide powerpoint presentation??

yea i think the whole idea of the project is that it's supposed to take him 3-4 weeks or something, not some shit he could mock together in the last few days

either way idk how he would pull it off, all the posts have the time and date on them, it's not like you can edit that to make it look like it was from 3 weeks ago

Start to finish, mine took almost a month working on it after work. But it's more than just the tube work:

Look at a lot of pics to get ideas
Roll cage feet/tie ins to frame
Drill and bolt roll cage feet
Take measurements
Bend/notch tube
Tack weld
Fully weld
Paint
Seat mounts
Harness mounts
Etc

To bend all of my tube and weld it took about 2 weeks.
A lot of the time is thinking, notching, fitting
The bends do not take too long to layout.
Of course I am using an electric hydraulic bender: Faster then most

My cage is tied into the frame and front tube work and completely bolts in
