hahaha, probably not, but I can always lend a hand when you want to build one. Plenty of parts are available, you just need to know what you need and where to get it.

Made this for Desert Metal.

Took a small piece of Sched-40 and made a threaded insert for it and a parent piece that will hold the mount.



The Sched-40 piece would be eventually welded to the Cage on DM.

pros / cons of doing a "carbine" or a "midlength" or is it preference of looks and barrel length?

i dig the smaller carbine, and i dont like the full rail system (i like the magpul MOE hand guard). can that be installed on any barrel or do i need specific equipment to run the "carbine" look

A Carbine, Midlength and Rifle are all based on the placement of the Gas Block on the barrel. A Carbine with a 16" barrel is the norm. The Magpul MOE handguard is good shit, I plan on getting one for a later build myself - I find myself partial to Magpul furniture because it kicks ass.

For a Carbine Specific build, all you need is a Carbine Barrel and a Carbine Gas tube. The MOE hand guard is designed for a Carbine so it will bolt right on. The front sight you choose doesn't matter, but you will need the forend retainer for it, it is a stamped piece of sheet metal that goes behind the front sight that holds the front of the hand guard.

What really makes a carbine a Carbine in the AR world is lightweight and barrel length. either a 14.5" barrel with a soldered / pinned compensator or a 16" barrel like what I have and a pinned compensator.

YHM (Yankee Hill MFG) Makes a good Carbine barrel that is reasonably priced and good quality.
