Okay, let me get this straight, you cut through the floors for 5150s? Dude, I run 5150s, too, but they aren't good enough for me to cut through my goddamn FLOOR for them. They work just fine in a stock location.
Will you be upgrading to a real shock sometime soon?

really????
You can go through the floor with Rusty's Hydro's if you want.
Going through the floor lets you use high clearance shock mounts on the axle and actually be able to use longer travel shocks. He was only able to run stock length shocks when he moved the mounts on the axle, because that top mount was still in the same spot.
Looks cool caleb did you use 10" travel shocks or were you able to fit 12" ones??
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

All I'm saying is that it's a lot of work for a mediocre shock. Yeah, you can go through the floor all day long if you want for Rusty's hydros, but then you have to ask yourself "Why the fuck am I running Rusty's hydros when I've set myself up to run a shock that's 1000x better?"
Yeah, it's awesome that you went through the floor, Caleb, now make the efforts worth it and get a shock that's worth it. That's all I'm saying.

Ya I did it for travel Phil. I have 5150s because thats what I can afford, when I blow the 5150s Ill get a nice pair of shocks. Also Look at Andrews set up, he is running 5125s( i believe) which are the same if not one level down from 5150s. I also did not have the room for even a stock length shock in the stock location because I put the mounts on the axle tube. So ya, Matt can you order me a 4"in quad bypass coilover, I dont think a 3" can handle my Daily driving weekend warrior needs, that and I want some dual spring action with my leaves.....

That's the funny part, you won't blow the 5150s. I've been using my fronts as bumpstops for years and they haven't leaked yet.
Oh well, do what you gotta do, didn't realize your daily driver needed more suspension travel. Just cut the bullshit and tell us you want sick suspension travel for high speed stuff so in a few years this DD will be just another trail rig.

I like it, it gives you more travel and gets rid of the "anchors" on the bottom of the axle tubes. Just in case you were wondering my rear shocks are through the floor on my truck and I believe Rustys hydros would be an upgrade compared to my shocks
