I know some say should have gone chevy, or dodge.
If i went chevy it would be carb'ed. none of this nonsense of goverment motors.
If i went dodge it would be cummins. Probably shoebox style. with a stick through the floor. no fawkin automatic dodge

another effin update....
So after taking the motor apart and checking everything out i have learned a few things:
1.the motor is a Jasper rebuilt.
2. it has been run hard. main bearings worn alottttttttttt
3. Person who installed Jasper engine sucked donkey balls and didn't torque shit down.
a. 5 of 8 intake manifold bolts were taken off by hand.
b. passenger side motor mount was held on by one bolt half way threaded in, out of the four that were supposed to be there.
3. it will cost approximately $1,500 to rebuild
-this includes:
a. new crank
b. new gaskets
c. bearings and seals
d. machine work.
e. misc.
4. a reman. from ford with 3yr/100,000mile warranty is $2,100 exchangeLast edited by SupermanIce-J; 10-30-2009, 02:52 PM.2013 F150 fx4 (Tow Pig/DD)- 5.0 with the 3.73 option

moniez involved. v8 is alotta moniez.
I know that $2100 is alot but there is more involved in a v8 swap than just strappin a v8 in... and this truck was not meant to be a big project truck...just little odds and ends. I NEED to have this thing back on the road.
plus my pretty little v6 does fine... or rather will do fine when i get 3.73 axles out of an expedition.Last edited by SupermanIce-J; 10-31-2009, 11:43 AM.2013 F150 fx4 (Tow Pig/DD)- 5.0 with the 3.73 option
