  • Project bolt on.

seeing as how i havent really said too much here about it....heres my new XJ

thats how it sat the very day i took it home. had some spare stuff in the rear etc. for those of you who dont know i bought this off Alex (burtonlikespenis58) i ended up giving him money a week in advance and fliying up in some planes and getting some sique wingtop shotz (they totally made Will jelly)

and then driving it home (around 450 miles) where i took some more picz

and then it sat for a bit. being that it had a rebuilt title it had to go through a special re-certification process, which as Alex stated before the sale that it would pass....now after spending like $300 to get all that done plus the title transfer...it was legally mine.

next up: bro do you even lift? saved the old 3.5" AAL from the 96 before i scrapped it and my brother gave me some new leaf mains with fresh bushings, so i bought some clamps...and rebuilt the packs (no pics because boring) overall theres nothing special about this jeep yet, just a base XJ with an SYE and a 3.5" AAL kit. bumpers to come next (also bolt on), shocks after that, have a shackle relocation kit that needs some tie ins from JCR, and bigger tires once i whoop these 31s:
    pre tires - post lift

most of the stuff i plan for this is going to be bolt on or very well proven designs...im sick of cobbing shit together only to have to wait 3 years and then something major happens like the frame decides to rot away due to salty air around here, also thats another thing this is NOT my winter beater nor is it going to see the salt and snow! if the weather is bad enough i need the jeep....ill be staying home

hopefully this one i can actually update with things i do to it LOL

also as a secondary note, i gotta give a shout to Alex on here as well. His attention to details and his honesty when it came to selling me this was an unbridled excellence. each and every thing he said that was wrong with it AND that wasnt wrong with it was 110% accurate. i would without hesitation purchase something from him sight unseen again. so without being too much more long winded...thanks for being a straight shooter and not being a total fuckhead looking to dump your headache to someone else. you have my thanks.

got the 4wd linkage made up today, needs a little tweaking but smooth as glass.

yesterday got rid of that old stupid stock bumper and put on the JCR one i had from the old XJ:

looks much better, now im just trying to scrounge up some really super duper cheap lift shocks before OER, otherwise im gonna have to run shockless/blown 5100s up front and none in the rear. we shall see though

Not to be a dick, but, If you were lifting a jeep, don't you think getting shocks would be a priority before lifting the jeep? just my thoughts. But with that being said, you can spend $30 a piece on white body shocks that will do just fine for rock crawling.

97 TJ that I think is pretty neat.

Lol surprised it took that long for someone to say something it was and still is a money issue. I'm thinking that's gonna be my only option at this point however. Didn't wanna put white bodies on because of how terrible they are

                    $30 shock > no shock

I was never dissatisfied with any white
Body shock I ever used. They served their purpose just fine

I think at this point getting a shock under your jeep is more of a priority than the quality of it
