the hoops should be plenty strong without the crossmember for on road driving but when he goes offroad he can bolt it back in and strengthen everything up.

That shock setup looks very useful and plenty strong... Like the fact you can remove the crossmember too... Good thinking for a DD! Nice welds too

One quick question... How is it gonna get the bed over the shocks? You gonna put the bed on and the cut out for shocks then bolt the shock hoops back in? Also what about the body mounts for the bed? Are you going to make up another couple mounts for the bed being that the shock hoops appear to be bolted to them?

the shock hoop flanges are mounted on tube welded to the frame, and the bed mounts are in the front and back of the bed.

i made the hoop flanges to sit flush with the bottom of the bed, so to cut the holes i just took off the hoops, mounted the bed and traced the flanges. flipped the bed over and cut the holes i traced. then to do the shock holes i put the bed and hoops on, then dropped a plumbob down and cut a 3 inch whole with the hole saw....

i didn't get any pics tonight but ill try and get some when its painted up....

the only thing i dont like is i didnt account for the plastic bedliner so the flanges dont sit as flush as i wanted, and wheel wells on the liner are wider so i had to do some shitty cuts to the liner..... the liner is only temporary till some hurc goes down tho.

BIG BLACK COCK SHOCKS CAME IN

i really like these shocks and from what ive read the guys with yota sas love em.
im digging the bumps on them and im pumped to see how they work. might grab myself a set. Id also like to note the guys at poly performance are pretty damn helpful and i will probably be doing more business with them.

got the bed on and the rear shocks finished

flexed it out to see how the rear end worked and to get the front measured up to mount the front shocks

loving the rear shock set up and it works perfect.

They are 13 inch travel but with the bumpstop they will prolly be around 12 inches when fully compressed. poly performance claims they will compress to .25" but i cant picture that. I am not worried tho because the front dosent have much uptravel, i have them set for 3 inch of shaft showing before the bumpstop to get about 4 inches of uptravel. it leaves me with more than enough down travel.

I actually dont live in meridan anymore (was never able to figure out how to edit that becasue it said i wasnt human or some shit.... I just found the simple math problem thing ) But if you ever want to swing by my garage in uncasville, your more than welcome to check it out and have a few cold ones.
