  • Jeep Wrangler YJ Torque arm bushings and stud

Also called a stabilizer bushing or arm, it is the two round bushings and stud that go next to the transmission mount on my YJ. The previous owner had rigged it, I want it to be right. Napa doesn't have them, looks like the stealership is where I am headed unless someone has some.

Thanks, I actually had both of the bushings and found the broken arm in the box of parts that came with the jeep. I made a new arm from 1/2 inch hardware... better than factory

Yea, I have some driveline vibration, I thought that was it. Its somewhat better now but still shakes when I take off... I looked a little deeper and I think it has a bad U Joint.

I put in a new trans mount, the U joint definately has play. I was looking at the motor mounts, they might need to be changed... I was going to jack it up but the seal blew out on my craftsman jack.... Junk!

usually if it's craftsman you can take it back and get a new one for free...
is that YJ a stick or an auto ?

The vibe was coming from a bad U joint. I am all set, but maybe this could get moved to the Tech section?

yea this could be in the tech section, also you should put some TJ axles in that YJ dana 30 housing to get rid of that vaccum bullshit that it's got... this is an easy upgrade and doesn't cost much...
