Looking for a bigger unit (old school miller 35 would be boss) but even a smaller unit would work. My 110 isn't cutting it.

but
some people buy a plasma torch to cut, or maybe even an angle grinder. welders are better for connecting, not cutting- Will

Fine. I'll help.

This is what i have. You can run it on 110 or 220 and it is VERY versatile and easy to move around.
I got a pretty killer deal on this thing through abco (now airgas, i have an account there with alot on it, use that they'll give you an even better price). They have a package that comes with a cart and a bottle.
I use the larger Millermatic 251's at work (earlier version of the Millermatic 252) and i can't tell the difference between this guy and them (when running 220 of course). It can do 1/4 and 3/8 inch stuff on one pass and is super easy to operate. The Auto-Set is good for a hobbyist too, you literally select the wire thickness and thickness of the material you are welding and it takes all the guesswork out of setting the right wire speed and amperage.
I love every miller i've ever used, the welds are great, you can get every possible replacement part, i've never had one crap out on me, trust me the change from a home depot 110 lincoln is WELL worth it. That being said, I'm loyal to the miller brand because of the quality i know they have; that's not to be said that there are nice lincolns and hobarts or whatever else out there. You just can't go wrong with a Miller.
Other products too:
A GOOD auto-darkening helmet kicks ass too, trust me, i think i threw my home depot special across the yard more times than i care to think.
What i have and use at home:

The Pro-Hobby series is awesome and affordable.
What i have and use at work:

The elites are pretty expensive, but the window is huge and they are awesome helmets.
Ohhh and this will be my next Miller purchase:
