i got an 8.8. and today i installed the mini spool into it that i bought off of kracker on here. fit in nicely, although i had to grind down the c clips on the edges a little so that they would be able to slide into the center of the mini spool into the groove on the axle shafts. overall it went nicely, and i am happy to be on my way!

in terms of brackets, yes i think i am going to buy new ones not so much because of safety but also to save on the welding cost. i just want to bring the axle in, give the guy the measurements of where to weld everything and bring it home and install it. does this sound like the right idea? i got an estimate of 4-600$ for the job with cutting the old ones off which means the entire new axle must be installed right on the spot with everything done such as brakes, etc which seems like it is upping the price. it is really only 1-200$ worth of actual welding i think. hopefully with this idea i can gett he pinion angle and measurements all right though. any guidance appreciated on any of this guys.
