One the other hand, more strict regulations might be placed on the drilling of wells so it might take longer to do making less of a surplus. Read this in Pirate Chit Chat, some dude who was working for Halliburton, which is the cementing company that was working on Deepwater Horizon.
Yeah we were on the rig. It will be a long time before they release what actually happened. There will be so many law sutes and fines before this is all said and done. I have been following the story. There are all kind of rumors out here. The word is that the people that died were all on the floor. what I have heard is that they cemented the production liner and set packer in the hole. They were going to temporarily abandon the well. When they went to displace the riser with seawater the well blew back. They said that it knocked people out of their beds and broke a few peoples limbs. Somebody was not following mms procedures. It really suprises me since transocean and BP are super safety. So horrible...Comment

Actually I'm surprised it happened. Transocean has one of the best safety records of all drilling companies. That was one of the big factors in me applying to work with them. There really is no way to collect it that I know of. If you could collect it you can centrifuge it out of an emulsion.
