  • Electric bill

How much if your electric bill? I'm pretty sure I'm getting hoodwinked by CL&P. Fucking 120$ for my electric bill this month. I have a two bedroom apt. which I am almost never in. And when I am, the only thing on are the TV, the fridge, and two lights, for like 2 maybe 3 hours before I go to sleep. I need some comparisons before I call them and blow my cork tomorrow. Fucking thieves.

at my house we pay around 80 a month... it's not an enormous house but its not tiny either and we dont really conserve electricity too much...

I wouldn't say I conserve it. I leave stuff plugged in and use whatever I need. I just flat out don't use that much. My bill has been going up by about 20% for the first 5 months.

back when I was real young we shared a duplex with my aunt and uncle. My uncle was always really crazy about keeping his lights turned off and conserving, where as we were not.

Every month he was always amazed at how expensive his bill was and couldn't figure out why. Well it turned out the meter that was labeled as his side of the house was actually our side. So he was basically paying our bill and we were paying his

What do you have for heat, hot water, drier, and oven? These are all big energy users.

Oil heat. My landlord pays the water bill. No dryer, and I have an energy efficient front load washer that is about 3 weeks old, that I've probably used 4 times. I have an oven that stays plugged in so the time reads. Other than using the broiler for 5- 10 minutes twice a week, I never use it. I know these all use energy, but 95% of the time they literally just sit there plugged in. My parents bill is like 120$ and they have 3x the sq. footage and 3x the appliances.

this month mine was $275 (electric heat)

the thing with electric company is they charge like 40-50 bucks in supplier fess/delivery fees and really not much for actually useage, just look at your statement , it lists the fee's on the second page normally

i pay around $95 but i have all energy saving lights and a LED light... and im the light nazi so shit dont stay on.

but my 50" plasma gives off enough heat to raise the temp in the living room by 3 degrees so im sure that doesn't help with energy consumption
