after trading in my LJ Rubicon, i almost tear up when i see any LJ. I miss the idea of it, but if i still had it i know i would make the same decision. I think i miss something when its more rare. How can someone feel an attachment to a cherokee when 1.2 million were produced?

How many of those 1.2 million were my first car designed, built, and driven by me for 6 years?

Personally I would never sell my green jeep (heavymetal) ever. its been with me since the start in 04, and has been through a lot. it isnt something i could just replace and feel the same way about...it will just change with how i need it over time

this thought came to me as i toyed with the idea of parting DM out to fund other things...and even that project i have some restraints about parting with..
I think there are several components to this attachment. I also think that attachment to a wheeling rig is more intense than to other vehicles because:

                  1. You put in long hours and spend cash and bust up your hands and get covered in oil/gas/atf/gear oil wrenching on your vehicle so you grow attached to the vehicle because it demonstrates the results of your input of time, money and energy.

                  2. You go wheeling/traveling to new places in your vehicle and see amazing scenery and explore new places, so there is a connection between all the places you have been and the vehicle that took you there.

                  3. When you wheel, you push your vehicle to the limits (some more so than others) and run gnarly obstacles so you form a bond of trust with the vehicle, by trusting it to keep you safe (or not so safe) and to be reliable (or not so reliable).
                  You're a ___________

will never get rid of my green jeep, first car, too many memories, too much work put into her.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.
