oh and i cant speak for the companies donating things but i know that people donating to the cause probably donate to other causes.

i sponsor a girl through world vision. i do donations to the animal shelters and marine mammal stranding center in NJ. Im going to put together another dontion for the Greyhound Rescue in Philly. I also organized a food drive at my work. and ennironmental clean ups in my town and at the shore.

just giving an example that jsut bc someone donates a few bucks to something outside of the US doesnt mean that they dont help out at home too

i just wanted to reply to what you were saying about sis looking bad and what not...i should have edited it to what parts i was replying to. it's really hard to understand people's tones and attitudes via internet, so i do understand where some of this is looking bad...but everyone is entitled to their own opinion and i do agree that people should have their facts lined up and understand the situation before they are like fuck that no way

I may as well be the A hole. Fukk Haiti. They have been nothing but a lay down do nothing pile of welfare cretens doing NOTHING for themselves, and waiting for everything to be handed to them. They will NEVER be a society, no matter what anyone does for them, because they refuse to stand on their own. I not only firmly believe in helping others in need, I put it to practice as often as is possible. But to continue to throw valuable resource into a burning pit is absurd. For over 100 years, they have been cared for like sick children, and have never once stood to the challange of creating a life for themselves. And they never will. Clinton took them on as his little charity, and failed, dispite the flow of cash and resources into that corrupt pit. A multitude of charities lose money every day, and have for a hundred years with not a single gain. Now we are posed to throw an additional 100,000,000 into that piss hole, and no good will come of it. Lets not ignore the fact that the 82nd is now on the ground there, instead of where they will do some good. We're idiots...What did China cough up...a million bucks I think??? WOW!
We are creating and enabling another welfare society, just like we have here. We can't float the one we have here, but now we have to burn more money for no reason. It pisses me off.

i dont really have enough of an opinion on helping them rebuild right now. Im thinking they should handle that part themselves. Just me personally, i cant say, oh look a 4 year old kid with broken legs who lost both his parents and is starving...hahaha sucks to be him he deserves it for being a slum.

i dont necessarily think anyone is laughing at the situation these people are in and how many lives have been taken...yes, it is unfortunate, but sometimes you need to look past the stuff they show you on tv and in the donation ads and look at what is really going on in their country and ours...if our country was in a better financial situation then i could understand us giving money and helping out. if we only sent what we could afford, things would be different, but we're not

There's a difference between saying he deserves it and not donating, just because you don't donate to the cause doesn't mean that you think they deserved to be hit by 2 pretty big earthquakes within a week of eachother, I look at it this way... if there was an earthquake here which countries would help us out? Sure as hell not Haiti, they wouldn't even offer, so why should I bother helping them, they've lived in a terrible place all thier lives in poverty so now we're gonna dump a shit load of money down there for them so they can live a little better.... better hope they don't try to get used to getting American money, next thing you know they'll be inflating thier rafts and floating to get here.

In the end, we will donates millions and millions of dollars, so that it will feed and house a few people for a temporary amount of time, haiti will go back to being haiti, and they will CONTINUE TO LIVE ON A KNOWN FAULT LINE, and this will happen again, wash rise repeat, if america isnt the super power next door by that time, who knows how well they will fare.

the quake isnt the fault of anyone in haiti, but at some point people will need to see you cant just fix stuff like that by throwing cash at them.

That and the donation scammers who are saying theyre donating but just pocketing the money, thats the #1 reason I don't donate, that and the fact that I'm in college and need all the money I can get..... but I still don't beg for donations...
