i voted no...when the earthquake first happened i probably would have said maybe, but i don't really have any extra money to spare right now, plus...look at what's going on over there right now...like many of you said, the gangs over there are so incredibly violent and we are sending people over there to take care of them and are probably getting treated like crap.

owen made a veryyyy good point where he said what if something happened to us? i have a feeling that if we ever needed their help they would shut us out so quickly. it just drives me crazy how this is all over the news....

It doesn't even have to do anything with the fact that they don't care about us or they fact that they never feel sympathy for our natural disasters, it is the plain and simple fact that no matter how much money you dump into that place, it will continue to be a third world country until an earthquake kills the entire population. They severed their ties with their Superpower without any type of plan for form a solid country with goods to export other then Sugar cane. They have, and always will be a festering blister of fail in the Caribbean.

The most tragic part of the whole thing is the people of Haiti are robbing eachother instead of helping.

I work a lot of overtime (take incentive to work extra to better my own life) and the government likes to take about half of that and give it to other people who don't take incentive to make their lives or anyone elses better. I am sure enough of my money is going there with or without me concenting. I hope if the roles were reversed, the people of Haiti and all of the other countries that the United States tries to help, would come our aid.... wonder if that would happen?

I saw some commercial today that said "Haiti is closer to San Antonio than San Antonio is to Seattle" Thanks for the fucking geography lesson but I still don't care.
