He had a long and respectable career at the Packers.

He cant play at the packers anymore so he goes to the Jets and has a dismal season at best. 2 weeks ago he announced he is retiring from professional football, because he didnt feel he could play at a competitive level anymore. He was trying to get signed by the vikings ( Greenbays arch enemy ) but was unsuccessful.

Today, he signed a deal with the Vikings to play this year, and will be playing against his old team, the packers, in the metrodome, on October 5th.

For those of you who dont know how big this is, it would be the same as

Will leaving SIS to become president of CT jeep.
Running procomp tires/wheels/suspension
and becoming president of jeep forum all at the same time.

Brett Farve is dead to packers fan. Any last remaining shread of respect packers fans had for him is now destroyed.


Should be an interesting season.

I agree with you it's time for him to retire, but Packer fans lost respect for him long ago. Signing with the Vikings is just icing on the cake.

He had an amazing career as a Packer, and towards the end he left them out to dry during the off season with claims he was going to retire, then down the stretch at the last minute he would change his mind(which he continues to do with whichever team he signs with). The Packers got tired of it and decided to move in a different direction, and he took that as offensive. The only person he has to blame for the Packers letting him go is himself. You can't expect a team to hold a spot on the roster for argueably the most important position on the field up until the day before training camp.

IMO he isn't even that great anymore.

Yeah i heard about this today....He just needs to stay in retirement. My friends and i called that something like this would happen after he stated he was gonna stay in retirement. Hopefully he has a shitty season to prove he should not have signed.
