with the 8.8 it gave more height, went from a 5.5 in lift to about 7.5 because the axle housing in the 8.8 is thicker

you mean larger in diameter?

to acheive 2" more lift from an axle tube it would need to be 4" larger in diameter from stock

and a dana35 is 2 and 3/4

so your 8.8 has 6.75" axle tubes?
