I'm looking at selling my XJ for a pick up. I've "made due" with the XJ for a while but its is just more practical for me to have the bed of the truck to use, and I know the rest of my family will be able to use it as well. Plus with work the way it is right now I don't have the time to fix wheeling breakage, not like I ever truly went on any runs anyways.
I can't afford new, I'm looking at used "new style" picks up. I don't have a brand preferance but I really like the GMC and Chevy models. Fords aren't out of the question but I really dis-like the looks of the Dodge pick up. I realize this is pretty open ended so try not to crucify me too much. But is there anything to look for on an 02-06 Chevy full size pick up? Color and packages don't really matter all that much to me as long as it is 4x4 and full size since I will plow and tow with it. Most I've seen are between 60-100k miles. Think this is too high to start at?
What I mean is like if I were to buy a new XJ I know exactly what to look for as far as rust, worn out parts, axle and transfer case combos, trim packages, so on. I really know nothing about new trucks because I've been out of the "new car" thing for such a long time. Any one own one or have any input on the matter?
