  • Anyone else a hiker?

Just wondering if anyone else is into hiking and/or backpacking? Do you have any favorite trails/mountains and why?

I used to but i have not had time for it the past few years. There are alot of trails up here in NH but mostly up the the notches and the ski mountain areas. there are some good ones off exit 31 off 93N on the Kangamangus Hwy. (sp)

used to as well, I really should get back into it since its something I loved to do. I know harriman and bear mtn like the back of my hand. I just read Into The Woods which is about a dude who just decides to hike the AT and it made me want to load up my pack and go somewhere.

Bill Bryson right? That's a great book.

Edit: Nevermind that book is called a walk in the woods. Definitely a good read though.

Lemon squeeze-New Paltz New York at the Mohonk Mountain House is a sweet trail, lot of fun. I hiked a trail up in New Hampshire, somewhere near Woodstock that brings you to the top of a mountain, theres a small crashed air plane there that crashed years ago. Trail, at the peak of Killington Mountain in Vermont is kewl to and of course hiking around Mt Washington. Pikes Peak, Colorado and Hiking in Moab, Utah was sweet too!!!

ive heard great things about lemon squeeze, and have done plenty of day hikes through minnewaska and around there, but the mohonk personnel will kill a fool if youre not paying them to be on their property. ive been kicked off on foot and by bike... escorted off the premises. and it sucks bc mohonk has miles of awesome property.

i hate hiking but all my friends are into it so i go with them anyway. the places we end up are cool but i'd rather drive a self propelled vehicle to said locations. i'm lazy . . . and fat

I usually hike terrywille in danbury, but i am getting prepped for the appilaction trial this summer (i doubt i spelled that correctly). I just like the silence in the woods, not a lot of people around, and its nice to get away from the hustle and bustle once in awhile. Looking for someone to hike/backpack with? Or just wondering who else finds it entertaining?
