You should get more back because now you claim yourself.
People get more money back because they pay in more than they owe, your pay in is based on what you select when you start your job. Claiming 0 you pay in the most = smallest weekly pay check. So a larger return just means you let the government barrow that much money for a year.
If you can budget your money the best would be to breaking even on your taxes.
Tax deductions add up, like student Loans, mortgage, other taxes that you pay, donations like goodwill etc.
If you own a business now that is where you can write off a lot.
Get a good accountant they can make a huge difference. I pay about 1/3 the taxes I did before.
I use Bob Walsh in Bridgeport just past the Trumbull Mall, I forget the name of the company but the number is 203-371-4242 I believe it is only $100 the first year.

Turbo Tax is good. I use FreeTaxUSA.com to do mine, and owed $21 Federal. Even with working out of state for the last 4 months of the year, I managed to get $489 back from CT.=Jeff=

My state tax is normally about even but I get a lot of Federal tax back. The last 2-3 years my checks were in excess of $3k with my deductions for tuition. I'm hoping that it comes in close to this againComment
