I'd u keep blowing thru motors here's a few reasons why....
1.)pinion and spur gear meshed to tight ... Too much friction
2.)ESC could be set in LIpo mode if your running NIMH batteries
3.)drivetrain binding
4.)sand dirt etc inside motor
5.)improper turn motor ESC combo (ie. 27t motor w wrong ESC)
6.)need a BEC
7.)crappy brand motor...ya get what ya pay for.... Personally I'd go with a traxxas velineon motor... Cheap fast as hell and waterproof....
And while Matt is now the Dan Joyal of wraiths having swapped in the 5th(?) motor, Dickerman is going through stock steering servos like the gears are made of paper mâché.
I have also found a sweet spot here in Fairfield with great trails for them.
