Amen to that. The Ukrainians got fed up with the widespread corruption and inequality. Why should that oil baron driving around in his Maserati pay a smaller percentage of taxes than me, why does that politician who's bills I pay eat at a 5 star 500$ a meal restaurant every day?
Go them, hopefully they can put a stop to the bullshit without losing too many lives and destroying too much

Who the fuck you think is paying the fuckin politicians. Ukraine refused further integration ito the EU meaning no EU health and environmental standards, among other benefits and admittedly cons.

Ukriane repudiated the EU deal because the benefits derived from it would be longer term in nature rather than the short term benefits provided by the Russian agreement.

Ukraine desperately needed the $15b loan from Russia to avoid defaulting on its debts which would have bankrupted the nation. Forex markets have crushed the Ukrainian currency due to the out of control rioting which has made the Russian money that much more important.

Ukrainians also saw the price of Russian natural gas decline by 33%.

There is an irony in that. The Ukraine wanted an instant loan from Russia and now since the government has decided to side with the Russians, the rioting started, eventually got worse, and now the government needs the money even more because of the damage and economic collapse because of the rioting.
