I don't like the Nissan V6 seen a few with bad head gaskets and it is a really big job pays like 30hrs.

I recommend Subaru pretty easy to work on, a lot of head gaskets but not a hard job. Other than that pretty staple, I've seen a couple newer ones with lower end noise so listen close when you are looking at them.

I would also recommend early 2000s late 1990s cars over the new stuff cheaper and easier to fix both have the same chances of breaking.
The new stuff is all digital, computers talking to computers, VIN specific components, drive by wire, a lot more more to go wrong and harder to diagnose.
