It's ok for my friends to break my balls, but as far as I am concerned, you are a fucking douchebag

Enjoy your 500 dollar cherokee, looks like a promising build

        RestoMods ftw.

I would kill for a cuda or a challenger with modern suspension, steering, a/c, sat radio, to go along with those killer classic looks and that big block hemi.

I'd daily drive that baby at 8mpg every damn day.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

x2 on the drive what you can afford comment. I see too many people that buy ridiculously expensive vehicles only for the coolness factor or bragging rights and then scrounge to make the payments. No reason to hurt yourself with debt when you don't have to.
When I was young I drove a bunch of cheap cars because that is what I could afford at the time. Now that I'm older and make more money I have more options. My 2003 F250 has taken a few trips to Florida with a load of tools to work on my house down there and I couldn't imagine driving the 79 Ramcharger I had when I was 20 that far. Newer vehicles are comfortable and reliable for the most part.

A literally stock $500 XJ "build" is a thread everyone will be subscribed to at the very least, it is an off road forum, after all. Hopefully the axle paint holds up.

Classic cars rule! I would love to take a 60 caddy and drop it on a Corvette C6 chassis and put a rockin stereo in it and get the ac blowin cold! Not in the cards right now though. I've considered making my Chevelle into a daily driver as well with an LS3 and all the creature comforts. But for now that void is filled with my 05 C6 vette which is practically a brand new car seeing as it sat in a garage its prior 7 years to me owning it. And it has the heated seats, bose stereo, very quick, quiet, cruise control, good gas mileage etc. And I LOVE driving it, I still can't believe it's mine. But I'd sell it in a heartbeat if I had something as practical in an older shell.
I rock my 87 silverado everyday in the winter, but it also had the creature comforts that I need in a daily, horespower, cruise, heated seats, ac, heat, good stereo.

Old cars rule. And when I get the space and time I'll make something old like new and rock it everyday
