That being said, we'll have to race wheb you're done. I've got a 75cc ped in the works that will give it a runfor its money.
Depends on what kind of pussy mountain bike brakes your running. I have brakes that could stop that thing on a dime. Just gotta invest in some 4 piston hydros with vented rotors

For the price you might as well just upgrade to MC or scooter stuff. Even the best MTB isn't meant to stop a 250lb bike + 180 lb rider + gravity/downhill moment from 50+mph consistently (as in traffic).

I know they're super sloppy, and bikes can go 50+ too, but I wouldn't put my faith in en to stop me from turning into road paste.

The whole bike should weigh less than 100 lbs from what I figure. Engine and tranny is about 45 lbs. My whole 250 two stroke dirt bike weighs 230... No way a mountain bike with a tiny engine is even close to that.

Even considering the new bike weighs only 100 lbs, which will be low on its possible scale.

Those brakes used to stop a total of ~180 are now stopping ~280. Either way, I'd really like to see it in person. A lot of these kickstarter companies are making super cool stuff.

I've tinkered with a couple motorized bikes, but nothing like the Motopeds for mountain climbing. This is my old Ambassador frame with a 212cc snowblower motor and CVT trans with final belt drive. Sounds great and does about 55mph. I hold at around 30-35 and the cops haven't bothered me a bit. It does have a 49cc sticker on it though. LOL

212cc? That thing should go faster than 55!

Pretty cool though. My only complaint is there's no pedals

I modifyed the pipe, it actually got me from 25 mph to a blistering 35

But i sold that project, living on the country side it made more sense to keep my enduro

It could if i changed the drive sprocket around on it. I had it going about 65mph, but the belt would slip a lot and it didn't have much power off the line. With the current set up it has a good compromise of acceleration and speed. I also have not removed the governor or done any upgrades to the engine.

Very cool. How much does that block weigh? A typical ped drivetrain is about 30 lbs, that thing looks massive.

hope tech 3 v4's or their race models should stop it just fine. i had a free ride bike with 12 inches of travel that weighed in at 65 lbs...... i could stop that thing no problem so a little extra weight would lesson braking power but i still think it would be enough.
