Not yet at least. Seems like every other week something is just breaking. I can't even wheel the thing because it's always messed up.

HA! I actually have my old 242. I'm contemplating whether or not i should buy an IRO SYE for it. I think that's what i'm going to do.

Besides, if i bought your T-case, i'd have to pay in singles.

and the seal flange is that all i need to put this onto my spare 242 in my garage? Is splitting the T-case required to put a SYE on it?

i have a 231 with what looks like a brand new SYE in it out of a YJ with a blown 4.2. my cousin was going to scrap it because they pulled it out of a customers YJ to be replaced, i pulled it out of his scrap pile 2 months ago. so i got it for free, it's in my shed pissing me off because i tripped on it and then spilled most of the fluid out when i moved it. i'm not about to post it up or deal with all the CL fuck bags. shoot me a text come get it.

does it still roll on the rear or is that seized up too?

                              That must have been fun.

If that center ball goes on the CV joint it causes a lot of vibrations.
Also that wasn't an instantaneous break as you might think it probably started out as small cracks could have happened while wheeling and slowly got bigger, called fatigue.
When it finally got to the point to let go is when it got violent.

I've only snapped a 231 when I flexed out and the drive shaft bottomed out.
But I've seen stock setups break when the drive shafts let go.

the 242 is a stronger t-case, if you don't get a next to free 231 I would go for the 242.

Also if you talk to who you got the SYE from they might be able to sell you just the housing worth a shot.

Oh god totally forgot about this video i made.

Here's the T-case and the noise i'm referring to 23 days before it broke. I never did anything to attempt to fix this. Shame on me, i know. I just didn't think this could turn into a T-case bouncing down the highway.

                                Lesson learned.
