This just tells me at least 1/3 of people getting divorced weren't mature enough to get married in the first place

disagree. i personally use it to keep better connected with distant people. perfect example(s) an old friend of mine now lives out in montana. we talk on a daily basis due to facebook, as he doesnt have a cell phone nor your standard landline [bit of a hermit is he].....second example, i talk to and interact with quite a few of you on facebook...now we do however have the forum to communicate but sometimes is just simpler to shoot someone a facebook chat. facebook is only as good or bad as the people that use it. as harry said well no need to repeat

take it or leave it. Without it we all survived, but now that it's here it has become a great tool to communicate with people who you don't necessarily feel are phone call worthy.

facebook has been the number 1 effective marketing tool for me ever for my business, and i maintain contact with a lot of people on it

the point isnt that "facebook is all bad", figured that was obvious

facebook exhibits human nature in a magnified sense

i dont know if i agree with you on this. it's not necessarily young couples getting divorced. a lot of older couples who went the first 5, 10, 15 years of their marriage without facebook, all of a sudden are joining and finding ex boyfriends, girlfriends, friends from HS, and it brings jealousy into the mix. i feel like our generation expects that whoever we are dating is going to have a facebook and chances are they will be friends with their ex on it - and we can easily find out a lot about their past just by doing a quick scan on their timeline.
