over on ARFCOM there was a quote from the law saying you can only shoot for 4hrs after the cops are called and one person at a time. that sounds like a challenge

You're right, they should have all said 'fuck you' so the town could have closed down the clubs and said "No shooting in Newtown at all" and all the voices would have been crushed and all those awesome people you had running these clubs would have been left holding their cock in their hands as the politicians laugh themselves silly. That's actually what they wanted to do and it would have happened except, as a resident of Connecticut, you should know that there are very very few places where people can shoot so the people who spend thousands of dollars a year protecting their land from the state and town had to do what they could. The entire gun community is pretty much backed into the corner at this point and all the internet angst is just paper airplanes being thrown at brick wall. The politicians don't care, and the few that do, are just that, the few.

It was a compromise, as much as it sucks and that this should never happen, it was a compromise regardless. If you want to waste your time further, you can write and call the Newtown politicians and voice your opinion...and I'm sure they'll listen like they listened to us all last winter.

ya i know what you mean but soon there won't be anything left to compromise on. those clubs are large enough and have influential people in them. Now i don't know everything about it but I'm sure there were people behind the scenes making sure the clubs would be fine if they didn't say anything or fight the law too much.

Take the new ammo law going into effect october 1 for example, now all the "practical" gun nuts and hunters who have been throwing the AR type of guys under the bus all these years get to feel some of this too. another one is how so many more people in Colorado suddenly started caring about the new gun law because it banned the use of the Remington 870 shotgun that so many use for bird hunting.

all we're going to have left is black powder muzzle loaders that you are limited to only have 1 per household and required to have a $400 a year permit for with no clubs to shoot it at anyway.
