Some cool pictures, Sardo, especially the military personnel portraits (I guess you can call them that) in the original post.

I'll post some random assorted stuff.

AHAHAH i love the lever gun with the bayonet, it's so scarey and a little assaultish.

some dog handler school from NC in june 11

helo ops, went for a quick ride to see how the dogs would react to being in and around a real helicopter. So we just gave him and his buddy a few Newports and attempted to talk with them. Turns out 10 year old kids like Newport smokes, then again anything is better than the local Afghan ones that seem to be made with old news papers and butts.

last day of school we went to a local guys place and let the dogs have fun with some water marks.

low light shot of the C-17 cargo jet from towards Afghan.

rode over with some army guys who were also dog handlers, kind of fun. either way much better than going with the entire unit cramped into a normal jet liner. i slept just about the entire trip.

      and a few portraits

this kid came up to our vic trying to tell us the boxes that were strapped to it were his and that he needed us to deliver them to his house.

I do not know the way of the camera, but I went with my daughter the other day and got a Canon T3i for her class this Fall. She's in graphic design school in Florida and has to take a number of photography classes. Maybe she'll teach me something when she comes home over Christmas or next summer.

That's a nice camera, I've been eying one for a while now. Which school is he in? I've heard of a few schools down there that are very good if you're looking to get into media.

some night time shots, these are from an older GoPro i had set on a pic every 5 seconds for a time laps thing i was messing around with. this was somewhere up around Ft Devens Ma early 2012 while i was still on orders up there after the afghan det.

this rig was sitting outside of the kennel for a few weeks so one night while i was on duty i went out and took a few long exposure shots of it. Late November 2011 around 2am i think, there was a small light about 150ft away that was providing most of the light on the truck. in person it was just enough light to walk around but nothing all that bright. not sure what happened to the truck as i wasn't with these guys. my guess is it was recovering another truck but activated a device with the driver side rear tires which blew the rims in half alone with most of the tool box. then it caught fire from the explosion, the cab and rest of the truck was, well not intact but didn't look to have blast damage. melted the 3 inch thick glass on the cab along with a few other interesting things.

                      Iphone pics, nothing fancy

think the heat treat is a bit off on these

mid October into November i ran with Army combat engineers doing some route clearance so prior to us leaving around 4am i messed around with a few shots of all the trucks being staged.

not the same blown up truck as above but the wrecker that was with us, pretty cool actually. same semi size tow truck international makes for the normal world but this one is all tan and equipped with armor and an RPG net. so perfect for anyone towing trucks in say Bridgeport.

out rest spot outside the FOB at Musa Qala after escorting the first convoy there. trying to figure out what setting to use on the camera, 30sec exposure i think and some guy walked through there with a red head lamp on. looks kinda cool i think.

the night was too dark, i had a 30 second exposure and highest ISO of 1600, both of them maxed out my camera as its old and isn't too fancy.
this is my dog Streaker who was hanging out in the truck where we slept as it kept him the calmest and i didn't have to worry about him. except when he decided to wake up randomly at 3am to step on my face before he jumped out of the truck like a dick.

even with the settings maxed out this was the most useable pic i got.
the blue glow is from a chem light i tied to his collar so i could see him better.

oh and the local kids are soooooo nice. The kid on the left was scared of my dog Streaker when he came around the side of the truck i was on and saw him, walked the other way. then was talking to the Army guys asking for "CokePepsi", more Newports and then yelling "i'm going fuck you sister" "fuck you mista suck my dick" along with the associated gestures

To get real good shots like that you really do need the Macro lens right?

from the other night, had my GoPro taped to a jackstand on the hood of my jeep as i was preping my 9 housing for the truss and leaf perches. since this was all around midnight, i think my neighbors hate me.
