well, the biggest problem with the 2nd amendment is that it exists...people who arent taught or brought up with it are uneducated on the subject. i heard it the other day maybe FB maybe somewhere else...saying that guns kill people is like saying that pencils misspell words. its just simply not the way it is. a firearm is an inanimate object and nothing more than a tool. its purpose is killing, nothing more, nothing less. its who is behind the trigger that causes the problem and there really is no easy or feasible way to fix this. those with common sense arm themselves to defend themselves from those who dont have common sense (the crazies). thats all there is to it really, and then theres idiots like Bob Costas that just ingests the medias bullshit and brainwashing that guns are so bad that they need to be done away with. BULLSHIT if anything we need federally mandated open carry...if everyone has a pistol on their waist who is left to rob or rape or murder? cause i know DAMN well if someone does that shit to me and i have a pistol...im firing back.-00 XJ. 3.5", 33s. oh, I don't pretend to have any solutions. Not even close.
The issue is that people use guns the wrong way. They are usually bad people, a low percentage of the total gun owner population. But they make normal gun owners look bad, like offroaders get a bad rap from people who don't wheel responsibly, or how liberals look like retards because of pretty much everyone in NYC... (nvm that one, they all are retards)... or how repubs look bad because of people like Paul ryan.
How do you fix crazy? no idea. By virtue of the condition of "crazy"... you don't know until they go..... well.... crazy. So short of a forehead brand that says "crazy".... how do we keep guns out of the hands of those who would use them irresponsibly? Who knows.
The idea that we should ban guns is a great one tho.... take the guns from the law abiding citizens. This way they can't defend themselves from the people who don't care if guns are illegal.-Doug
Used to wheel.... now..... not so much....

The 2nd Amendment exsists soley to insure that no one or no government can take away my god given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This is a country founded upon a rebellion by the people. To think that we are far enough along as a society to believe we no longer need this right is not only foolish, but is irresponsible of us as a free people.
And to restrict the 2nd amendment because of these isolated incidents is insanity. 360 million people live in this country, approx. 16,000 died last year from gun violence (that is .00004% of the population), with a high majority of that being suicide. This is a knee jerk reaction by uneducated peoples.
33,000 people a year die from car accidents, and almost 60,000 per year die from prescription drug abuse in the united states. Guns are not the issue.
Not for hunting, not for sport, or any of that crap. It exsists for the sole purpose that I can stand my ground and protect my life if it is threatened by another human being. And that no one can take from me what is mine by divine providence.Last edited by Zullock Holmes; 12-03-2012, 12:04 PM.No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

My issue with all the idiots trying to ban guns, and even worse the citizens that support them, is the fact that outlawing guns only disarms the the honest law abiding citizens leaving them defenseless over the people who are mugging/robbing/killing because they are buying guns illegally.Dan.

From the news feed: part of the article Costas was referencing
We’d prefer to avoid seriously reflecting upon the absurdity of the prevailing notion that the second amendment somehow enhances our liberty rather than threatens it.
How many young people have to die senselessly? How many lives have to be ruined before we realize the right to bear arms doesn’t protect us from a government equipped with stealth bombers, predator drones, tanks and nuclear weapons?
Our current gun culture simply ensures that more and more domestic disputes will end in the ultimate tragedy, and that more convenience-store confrontations over loud music coming from a car will leave more teenage boys bloodied and dead.
Handguns do not enhance our safety. They exacerbate our flaws, tempt us to escalate arguments, and bait us into embracing confrontation rather than avoiding it.
