Rock bouncers are garbage, fun to watch, but other than that they're totally stupid. I'd hate to even drive one, there has to be close to no visibility.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

Option 1. Rock bouncers are more about how many 14bolts you can squeeze under a rig and how much horsepower you can squeeze out of an LS motor n a vehicle that looks stupid and pretty much goes nowhere.

I'm gonna go with a cliche... They both have there place. My redneck side says rockbouncin awesomeness. But my racing/less tabaccee in mah mouth side says ultra 4. If I was going to build a rig it would be built and look like an ultra 4 but driven like a rock bouncer.

Ultra 4 well built cars that look awesome and can go anywhere. I look at it like this southern rock bouncers are Clydesdales do brunt work and pure power. But make em run for a long time they can't hang. Ultra 4 cars are like secretariat. Run and run and run, and look good doing it lol.

heres a better question. Ultra4 rig or 77 Trans Am with 800HP in the 1/4 mile...apples to oranges i know but who thinks what?

The only thing I have been thinking lately with everyone going to ifs. Everyone is doing it cause Campbell has did it and won on it. But I still think straight axles are better.

idk Dizz, IFS does have advantages, live axles are a bit tougher im gonna say (limited expertise aka NONE) but on the other hand the IFS thats on an Ultra4 rig is very tough in its own.

that it was....back to the roots but on that same note i really think that Bill Bairds rig is one of the coolest rigs ever. sounds fantastic, fast as fuck....it really is a total package. on the flipside there is a special little niche in my Ultra4 heart that still has a place for that black and yellow rock racer as pictured above god i love that thing

i agree straight axles are still very effective, nick nelson just won the national chamipionship in an IFS car, food for thought.

it really depends on the season races and what style they are..though gary ferravanti regularly stomps the short course events in his solid axle car....with that said he is building an ifs car with spidertrax components
