My father wants to give my son his old winchester lever action 22 that i learned to shoot with.What type of paper work would i need to do to make the transfer.My son is 10,can the gun be transfered to him or would it have to be put in my name?

I do not believe there is any paper work needed to transfer a long gun in CT, at least that what Ive always done, with my dads guns that became mine.-Caleb

pistols you don't need to transfer the gun to carry it just to get if off the other person's name.
There is no gun registration lets keep it that way.
Just cannot sell a gun to a person that is not legally allowed to own one i.e. felon. That is considered a straw purchase very bad.
