And this is about all it will do. Does the governor really think that just because stores are open an extra day that sales will increase proportionately? Can people really drink more than they already do? This is one of those things that I can't believe is causing this much controversy.
For years people have been trying to get the blue law pushed out because we are still the only state in which you can't buy alcohol on Sunday, yet every other state in New England you can. I cannot see every mom and pop shop just closing it's doors over this, I cannot fathom that being open an extra day is going to cause every shop to fail.
This can create jobs all around the state, fuck tax revenue, I'd like to be able to buy a bottle of whiskey on Sunday. Why don't I stock up on fucking Saturday? Why don't I live in a fucking free country where if I wanted to purchase alcohol on Sunday, I can?
I'm really really curious to see how many places will close up shop once this law passes, until then, I'll be buying alcohol at my standard liquor store whenever the fuck I want to.
