Well, I'll say this, at least those people went out and did something and had fun (despite the fact that I'm sure that was was miserable and cold and wet and anyone who jumped in the most polluted body of water in the North East on a frigid winter day is blatantly retarded) and raised money more than just sitting at home on facebook saying OMG CHANG FACEBEWK STATUS TO MAKE AWARE OF CCANCAR LOLZZ!

Like protestors...
Protest schemes that don't cost the participants any inconvenience, hardship or money remain the most popular, despite their ineffectiveness.sigpic

when able to i help people in need. no matter what the disease. I have done alot of fund raising in HS and for my work for different diseases. I look at it as "i dont want credit but i would want someone to try and help me if i was in their shoes." I would compare it to mothers and fathers day. Why should i only be nice to my parents on these specific days ? i would rather be nice and helpful everyday. The true people who donate know who they are and would be doing it with or with out any sort of publicity.-98 XJ 4.5" lift , 35's, trimmed, locked, geared, flexy

hmmm lets touch on a few points here. donating for a cause is a great thing. participating in a cause is obviously a social situation but a good situation to be in regardless. to donate from bed or participating still makes you a good person. i've been running 5k's lately mostly due to the enjoyment of running but it does feel good to give to a charity especially since my mother is a breast cancer survivor. but i'm not saying you're welcome to anyone for it hahaI drive a Datsun

i think "youre welcome" is a lousy angle jon, take it how you will, im not bashing you personally, or your choice on how you raise money, kudos for you for goin through some serious discomfort in the name of charity, but do so with pride and less so a badge- Will

I have a truck full of experience with it too. He said the same crap to me. It was a joke and his comment came off to me as a joke - just like 99% of all the other comments you guys do on here. What because he posted a thread telling you guys he was going to do it and anyone who wanted to donate could message him? That's not bragging - that's trying to raise money. The whole point of participating in the even in general. That's a low blow if you ask me.

i am close friends with jon and have been for some time now, he knows i am not personally attacking his character. if hes upset about what i have said, im sorry to hear that.
i have been pretty clear with what i have said, theres no room for interpretation or alluding to anything. his thread wasnt even referenced
take it or leave it, welcome to the forum- Will
