also the fact the mount ends dont need a "full wrap" on the tube of the vehicle is another major upside...panels and dashes and wiring and lines and all that stuff all too often gets in the way. we are lucky our gopro mounts use zipties and can get around that more often than not, but a tube clamp would be severely limited. this is another reason i dont use gopros supplied roll bar mounts, theyre full wrap and are too cumbersome to mount in a lot of places, and theyre even small

Screw it, i'll make one. I will order the parts today and i'll see if I can whip it up tomorrow evening.

This will be impossible to explain, but I have special custom vise grips that I use for tube work. They have small pieces of angle iron welded on them to make it easy to clamp and center on tubes. I'm thinking that same setup x3. I'll try to mock it up on timmy's buggy and take some pics. Shit, if i'm lucky and his motor arrives maybe we can test it on his rig next week.

Make it like a strut bar. Or steering. Loosen two jam nuts, turn to desired length, tighten, voila.

Extends from 40" to 6'6". I think it'll be stable even that far out too.

                          that shit is lookin legitimate.

                          nice work..

Question: what locks it in position with all the heims?

i am guessing that bolt head (what would be a t-handle later) works as a sort of set screw on a long length of tube inside of what we currently see

What locks it in position is triangles. One arm needs to be fix mounted to the mount, the other two will be on heims.
