i have haken the liberty of chiming in on most. i ride horses/ take care of and it does not bother me one bit. there are so many horses that are put down because they dont have homes. wasted resources if you ask me.

I look at my horse like anyone looks at their dog or cat. A friend a family member and not dinner.

There are just as many over crowded/wild dogs, cats, deer, bear, etc running around the us. But you don't see deer slaughter houses or dog slaughter houses. Yes you can hunt many animals but its not in mass quantity and slaughter. People also don't normally ride deer or cows or keep them as pets either.

Last year's government figures show almost 138,000 U.S. horses were exported for slaughter.

They are being allowed in the US so it can be regulated, and "humane."
