im furious with her considering i just got this kayak 2 or 3 months ago, use it all the time AND i explained to her in detail exactally how to keep it from falling off but its only plastic.. if she fucked my jeep she would have got the wayne brady before she even had a chance to offer mashed potatoes and beer

I'm not going to south jersey to fix that sorry, are you coming up to CT anytime?

I have a plastic welder, you need to know what kind of plastic it is you need the same kind of plastic for the filler rod color doesn't matter just type.

Modernplastics.com has a good chart to figure it out.

Look to see if it is stamped anywhere, you know the little triangle recycle symbols.

Probably HDPE cut off a piece see if it floats. then burn it if it smells like a candle and stays on fire and drips it is HDPE no easy way to figure it out other than to burn it and see what happens.

HDPE is like the easiest plastics to weld but I don't have any filler rod you can get it from modernplastics or mcmaster carr
Get black it is naturally UV protective

        I have 4mm tips

Just use a heat gun to mold it back into place.
Even just leaving it in the sun it might go back into place.

if your main objective it just to make it water tight again. then do whatever bending to make it look better and hit the remaining seam up with a bead of clear silicone. cost you like $5 lay a bead to cover the gap and use your finger to smooth it out. they also have 2 part plastic epoxys at pretty much any auto place or walmart that work well.

i kayak alot, whenever i get a dent in the bow of mine from rocks and such i stick the front of the kayak in the oven and use an object similar in shape to "push" out the plastic, like a football.
