so 1/2 to 1 is the right reamer? Is that the same as 1.5" per 1 foot? I looked up the 1.5 per foot ones and they were all $80+, what gives?

Buy quality tools.
I've tried Irwin taps before the biggest pile of crap I dont' know maybe the reamer is better but my guess is not.
You can also search race car catalogs like chassis shop and left hander etc.
And most important buy the slowest drill you can get I got a 1/2 IR drill 400rpms.
I tried air ratchet but the head was pretty dam hot by the time I was finished.RCrocs #123 Brown CJ-5

a reamer is one of the few tools i think it is logical to buy a "crap" thing of considering how expensive they are normally
orrrrrr go out and buy a reamer that costs as much as your steering youre reaming, whichever- Will

I just never had luck with irwin drills or taps maybe the reamer is better.
I've probably used the X-kut reamer over 50 times and it still sharp. But that is the only one I have used so don't know any better.
FYI, There is a tools plus in waterbury.RCrocs #123 Brown CJ-5
